Until 21 October 2026, the office allowed a maximum of 40 examination (search) applications to be submitted daily through its electronic system. On 22 October the limit was reduced to 20.
At the same time, the option to open an application once before paying the official fees, review its details, correct them and save it again was disabled. If an error is discovered, the only choice is to abandon the application and resubmit it the following day.
That changes how a filing should be prepared. With a daily cap and no correction step, every mistake costs at least a day and a filing slot, and pushes the filing date back. These restrictions appear to be aimed at the growing backlog of search applications.
Before you instruct a search in Iraq:
- Send the final mark image, checked and approved
- Confirm the goods list before filing, not after
- Check the applicant's name and address
- Do not leave a priority or other deadline to the last week
