In one 2026 file, we checked goods that the agent later asked about and confirmed they had not been included in the reclassification application already submitted to the Iraqi Trademark Office. They could not be added: as we advised in that file, the Registrar has prohibited any amendments to submitted reclassification applications.
That makes the list you send your agent the final word. The weak point is the hand-over. When selected goods arrive in loose formats, we have to transfer them manually into the Excel sheet, highlight the selected items, and then transfer them again into the reclassification application. That is time-consuming and increases the possibility of errors.
How to send goods for reclassification in Iraq:
- Use the original Excel sheet and highlight the selected items in yellow
- Keep the Arabic and English description and the reference number of each item
- Or list the items in the email body, clearly numbered in sequence
- Send one final list and check it against the original sheet before sending: after submission, nothing can be added
